Meet my bridal entourage. A 6 part series.

Part 4:
Shea (Bridesmaid)

Savvy
Hopeful
Efficient
Addicted to cat videos on YouTube

I will begin this blog with an excerpt that Shea herself once wrote. I believe it best depicts how we met:

“You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-lady wolf pack. But when Stephanie Schulfer brought Douglas C Hayes home, I knew he was one of my own. So there... there were three of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Stephanie Schulfer joined, and then Doug joined in later. And 17 months ago, when Douglas C Hayes introduced me to you guys, Mary Ricci & Brendan Barnett, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more to my wolf pack. Five of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Park Central, looking for creepers and judgers. “

(I’m taking a risk that not all of my blog readers may have seen the movie
“The Hangover”- mainly my dad and future mother-in-law-but it’s just too good to leave out!)

Shea is the baby of the group. Our young grasshopper if you will. To know her, is to love her.

Shea loves cats and I love cats, therefore our friendship was pretty much a no-brainer. Sometimes we will communicate via cat pictures only. It’s totally normal for us to average 6 to 8 cat texts a week. To us this is completely acceptable. To everyone else- we’re nuts.

Shea is the reason I have my awesome job today. After several months of post graduation applications and interviews, I was beginning to wonder how long I could keep hearing “thanks but no thanks.” Shea interviewed a woman at her University and discovered she was leaving her old position as an Event Coordinator in attempt to go back to school. Shea took the time to ask just the right questions and gave me the recommendation on the potential opening. Classic example of friends helping friends! Sometimes it’s not always what you know, but who you know and I’m sure glad I know Shea!

Shea is my only bridesmaid that lives here in Orlando with me. She has already been such a big help and is probably just as excited about this wedding as I am! The past few years have been one heck of a ride and Shea has been there every step of the way. (Minus a few trips to Breckenridge, to which she loves to remind us.) She can most certainly play her “wildcard hand” from time to time- but the truth is, beneath that outer layer is a just girl who loves her friends and would do anything for them.
